Meet The Brits
The meeting went well. Didn't lose my nerve.... but super bored. Especially at the 2pm seminar... it wasn't really related to what I do but had to be there to show face.. Plus the boss sent out reminder to the whole department to be there... or else... you know what to expect. It's not the first time anyway.
So my meeting stretched from 9.30 till 11.45, after which we brought them on a lab tour. My director's secretary made lunch resevations for 6 pax. (The 2 collaborators, Director, Program manager and the 2 team leaders). Unfortunately, one of the team leader was on half day leave and my boss asked for me to sit in.... wallow.. Anyway, free lunch is all good. Had Pumpkin soup and Sea Bass served on bed of cous cous.. Nice. Saw this Sg actor.. forgot his name but he's that guy from parental guidance... they were filming on the island... no idea why. Ok so over lunch, the collaborators started talking about the in-flight entertainment where they watched '300'. The director, program manager and team leader were all clueless... So I did most of the talking there... heh I guess I'm one of the rare researcher who catches movie on a regular basis.. After lunch, my boss came up to me and asked what's '300' ah? in that canto tone. Hmm forgot what I replied her... I think I said it's like gladiator, except it's not. Almost blurted out the sex was obscene... until I remembered it was my boss I'm talking to.
After lunch, we had the seminar followed by a short project update with one of the Brits. 3.45PM, they left the island. 3.46PM, I was a free child!!!!
p.s: I think they're gonna extend my project.. dammit.
